I've been studying English Literature for the past two weeks and I've learned something from the novel that I am studying- Mill on the Floss-
"If your lover deprives you of your own happiness and forces you to sacrifice the happiness of those whom you love, evidently he cares nothing for your welfare and all that matters to him is his happiness. Therefore, he is not a man who truly loves you."
Yup, that is what I learned...well okay, only one portion of the novel la but it is a huge part of the novel.
